Open in App
Solution

It is given that
side of square = 80 cm
Area of the square = (80)(80) = 6400 cm2
Breadth of the rectangle = 40 cm
We know that area of the rectangle = L × B
It can be written as
L = Area/B
By substituting the values
L = 6400/40 = 160 cm
We know that perimeter = 2 (L + B)
By substituting the values
Perimeter = 2 (160 + 40) = 2 × 200 = 400 cm
Hence, the perimeter of the rectangle is 400 cm.
