Solution:
We know that the fencing is done along the boundary of the plot.
So we need to find the perimetre of the rectangular plot.
The length of the plot = l
The breadth of the plot = b
perimetre of the rectangular plot = $2\times length+2\times breadth$ (1 mark)
=$2\times (l+b)$ m
Cost of fencing 1 metre = ₹2
Total cost of fencing the rectangular plot =$₹2\times perimetreoftheplot$ (1 mark)
=$₹2\times 2\times (l+b)$
= $₹4(l+b)$ (1 mark)
