Let 'x' be the measure by which the sides have been extended.

New dimensions are:(x+5) m, (x+6) m and (x+7) m

Volume = $l e n g t h \times w i d t h \times h e i g h t$

Volume of the new rectangular block $= (x + 5) (x + 6) (x + 7)$

Plug in $x = 8$
