A rectangular box has a height hcm. Its length is 5 times the height and its breadth is 10cm less than the length. Express the length and the breadth of the box in terms of height.

Given, the height of a rectangular box =hcm

According to the question, the length of the rectangular box is 5 times the height of the rectangular box.

Then the length of the rectangular box =5×h=5hcm.

Now the breadth of the rectangular box is 10cm less than the length of the rectangular box.

Then the breadth of the rectangular box =(5h-10)cm.

Therefore the length and the breadth of the rectangular box are 5hcm and (5h-10)cm respectively.
