Specific energy at section 1-1, E1=y+V22g
=0.5+(1812×0.5)2.12×9.81
=0.959 m
Let the water depth at section 2-2 be y
E2=E1
y+V22g=0.959
y+(1815y)2.19.81×2=0.959
y+0.0732y2=0.959

y=0.346m
Change in water surface elevation=yy
=0.346-0.5=-0.154m
