Question

A rectangular field is 50m×40m . Nitin takes ten rounds of its boundary . How much distance does he cover ?

Open in App
Solution

Finding the distance covered in 10 rounds

Length of the rectangular field =50m

Breadth of the rectangular field =40m

Nitin takes rounds of its boundary, it means we have to find the perimeter of the field .

We know that, perimeter of rectangle =2×(length+breadth)

So, perimeter of the field =2×(50+40)

=2×90=180m

Distance covered by him in 1 round =180m

Distance covered by him in 10 rounds =180×10=1800m

Hence, distance covered by Nitin in 10 rounds is 1800m
