Solution

The correct option is C 12
Let the inner rectangle have x tiles in column and y tiles in a row that is rectangle of x*y, so red tiles =xy
The white tiles=(x+2)*1*2+y*1*2)=2x+4+2y
So 2x+2y+4=xy.........
2x+4=xy-2y=y(x-2)..........
y=2x+4x2y=2x+4x−2..
Now x will be 2 less than the value we are looking for and y should be an integer.
Let us see..
12.....x=10, so y=(2*10+4)/(10-2)=24/8=3

answer:12
