A rectangular park is $93$ m long and $80$ m wide. Outside the park there is a path $2.5$ m wide all around. Find the area of the path.

Area of the path $=$ Area of larger rectangle $-$ Area of smaller rectangle.

smaller rectangle : $l=93mb=80m$

larger rectangle : $2.5m$ wide path rounds all around outside smaller rectangle

$\therefore$ length of larger rectangle = length of smaller rectangle + $2\times 2.5$

$=93+5=98m$

Breadth of larger rectangle = Breadth of smaller rectangle $+2\times 2.5$

$80+5=85m$

Area of larger rectangle = $98\times 85m^2$

Area of smaller rectangle = $93\times 80m^2$

$\therefore$ Area of path = $(98\times 85-93\times 80)m^2$

$=8330-7440m^2$

$=890m^2$

$\therefore$ Area of path = $890m^2$
