$\therefore 308=b^2+8b$

$\therefore b^2+8b-308=0$

$\therefore b^2+22b-14b-308=0$

$\therefore b(b+22)-14(b+22)=0$

$\therefore (b-14)(b+22)=0$

b = 14 & b = -22

$\downarrow$ not possible

b = 140 meter

$\to$ breath b = 14 meter

$\to$ length l = b+8 = 14+8 = 22 meter

$\to$ perimeter = 2(l+b)

= 2(14+22)

= 72 meter
