A red-haired woman marries a brown-haired man, and all the children are brown haired. Explain this genetically.

Solution

Presence of red hair is a recessive trait where is presence of brown hair is a dominant trait. In the presence of a dominant allele the recessive allele is not expressed and hence if the allele for brown hair will be present in the offsprings along with the allele of red hair, then only the allele for brown hair will be expressed and all the children will have brown hair.
