A red Rose when seen in green light appears black . Give reason

Open in App
Solution

White light is composed of lights of different colours.A red flower appears red because it reflects the red light in white light and absorbes other colours of light

When a red rose is seen in green light, it absorbs the green light and the petals appear black(if no light is reflected it appears as black)as no light is reflected by the rose.

So if you look a red flower in any colour light except the white light or red light, it will look black.
