Solution

The correct option is C 35.73 m
Radius of circular curve = 250 m
Rate of gain of radial acceleration,
c=0.3 m/s3

Speed,
v=50 km/h
=50×5m/s18=13.89 m/s

Length of transition curve,
l=v3CR
=13.8930.3×250=35.73 m .....(i)

As per IRC
Ls=2.7V2R
[for plain and rolling terrain]

Ls=2.7×502250
=27m .....(ii)
Length of transition curve will be maximum of two
Ls=35.73 m
