Solution

Given data

  1. The velocity of the road is v
  2. The side of the triangle is l.
  3. The magnitude of the magnetic field is B.

Electromotive force

  1. The electromotive force is the time rate of change in magnetic flux.
  2. The EMF induced in a conductor with velocity v is defined by the form, ε=BL→×v→, where, L is the length of the wire and B is the magnetic field.

Finding the electromotive force

As we know, electromotive force on a conductor is ε=BL→×v→.

In this case, the velocity and length are perpendicular to each other.

So, induced emf is ε=Blv.

Therefore, the induced emf in the rod is ε=Blv.
