Solution

The correct option is C 4 W

The thermal resistance of CD is equal to 5 KW1.
As, AB and CD are identical rods, the thermal resistance of AC is equal to that of CB and each is equal to 2.5 KW1.

Suppose, the temperature at C is θ.

The heat currents through AC, CB and CD are given by,

(dqdt)AC=(100θ)2.5

(dqdt)CB=θ02.5

(dqdt)CD=θ255

Now,
(dqdt)AC=(dqdt)CB+(dqdt)CD

100θ2.5=θ02.5+θ255

2002θ=2θ+θ25

5θ=225

θ=45 C
(dqdt)CD=45255=4 W

Hence, (C) is the correct answer.
