Open in App
Solution

Finding the number of tiles required to cover the room

Length of the room =13.6m

Breadth of the room =6.4m

Area of the room =Length×Breadth

=13.6×6.4=87.04m2

Also,

Side of the square tile =80cm

Area of the square tile =side×side

=80×80=6400cm2

Now, we convert area of the room in cm2

We know that 1m=100cm

So, area of the room in cm =87.04×100×100=870400cm2

Number of tiles =areaoftheroom÷areaof1tile

=8704006400=136

Hence, number of tiles to cover the room is 136
