Length of floor of the room =4m

Breadth of floor of the room =3m50cm

=3m+50100m=3m+0.5m=3.5m (1m=100cm)

Step 2: Calculate the Number of carpets required

Area of floor of the room =l×b

=4×3.5=14m2

Thus, 14 carpets of area 1squaremetre each is needed to cover the floor of the room.
