Question

A room is 6 m long, 4 m broad and 3 m high. Find the cost of laying tiles on its floor and four walls at the cost of Rs. 80/m2.

Open in App
Solution

Area =2h(l+b)
We have, l=6m; b=4m; h=3m
Therefore, Area =2 x 3 (6+4) = 6(10)=60m2
Therefore, the area of four walls is 60m2
Now, we have find the area of the floor =(l×b)=(6×4)=24m2
Thus, area of floor + area of 4 walls= 60m2 + 24m2
=84m2

Thus, the cost of laying tiles on its floor and its four walls at the rate of Rs.80/m2
=84×80
=6720Rs.
