The correct option is A 1540 cm
Length of the rope = 15 meters and 40 centimeters
1 m = 100 cm
$\Rightarrow$ 15 m = 15 $\times$ 100 cm = 1500 cm
$∴$ Total length of the rope = (1500+40) cm = 1540 cm
