The correct option is B 4400 m, 400 m
Radius of the circle, r=4002=200 m Circumference of the circle =2πr
=2×227×200=88007 m
Speed of the runner =(88007)40=2207 m s1
Distance covered in 2 min 20 s i.e. 140 s=2207×140=4400 m

Number of rounds completed =4400(88007)=3.5

This means that the person will be at the diametrically opposite end, i.e. starting at A, and ending at B.


Hence, the displacement =2r=400 m.
