The correct option is C 4.8 m/s
If original speed of a boy is v0, then
12Mv2=14[M2v02].....(i)

Also 12M(v+1)2=12[M2v02]......(ii)

From equation (i) and (ii),
(v+1v)2=2
v=121
v=2+1
From equation (i), v0=2v=4.8 m/s.
