A sample of an acid, synthesised in laboratory contains 15g of carbon in 35g of an acid ; another sample of same acid contains 42.8% of carbon . Verify the law of chemical combination. Name and define the law

The law is law of multiple proportion.
The ratio of carbon in the two compounds is 15:42.8 = 75 : 214
so this compound follows law of multiple proportions. According to this law when two elements combine with each other to form two or more than two compounds, the masses of one of the elements which combine with fixed mass of the other, bear a simple whole number ratio to the other.
