The correct option is C The maximum energy of the initially emitted photon is 12.08 eV Number of photons initially = number of lines = 3 =n1(n1−1)2
So, n1 = 3
Number of photons finally = number of lines = 10 =n2(n2−1)2
So, n2 = 5
Maximum energy = E3−E1
= ΔE = 13.6 (1−132) = 12.08 eV
