It is given that the box needs to be wrapped completely by a wrapping paper which is assumed to have negligible thickness.
So, we have to cover all the 6 faces of the box which is in the shape of a cuboid.
This means, we have to find the total surface area of this cuboid-shaped box.
We know, total surface area (TSA) of a cuboid of dimensions l×b×h is given by '2(lb+bh+hl)'.
Given,
Length, l=20 cmBreadth, b=10cmHeight, h=5cm
Amount of paper required=2(lb+bh+lh)=2(20×10+10×5+20×5)=2(200+50+100)=2×350=700 cm2
