It is given that the box needs to be wrapped completely by a wrapping paper which is assumed to have negligible thickness.
So, we have to cover all the 6 faces of the box which is in the shape of a cuboid.
This means, we have to find the total surface area of this cuboid-shaped box.
We know, total surface area (TSA) of a cuboid of dimensions $l\times b\times h$ is given by '$2(lb+bh+hl)$'.
Given,
$\text{Length,}l=20\text{cm}\text{Breadth,}b=10\text{cm}\text{Height,}h=5\text{cm}$
$\therefore \text{Amount of paper required}=2(lb+bh+lh)=2(20\times 10+10\times 5+20\times 5)=2(200+50+100)=2\times 350=700{\text{cm}}^2$
