Open in App
Solution

According to question , when B was x years old, then A was 4x
So difference in age between both = 4x-x = 3x
That is A is older than B by 3x.

Then after some times B became 4x years old, then A would get older, i.e, A would then be 3x+(age of B):

A= 3x+4x =7x ,

and B= 4x,

Given: (A : 7x years + B :4x years)= 33 years ,ie,
7x+4x=33
11x=33

then after solving this equation x = 3

Thus, A's age = 7x3=21 years and B's age = 4x3 =12 years
