Total fee collected = Rs. 2304
Let number of students = x
Then fee paid by each student = Rs . X
$\therefore x\times x=2304\Rightarrow x^2=2304$
$\therefore x=\sqrt{2304}$

=$\sqrt{2\times 2\times 2\times 2\times 2\times 2\times 2\times 2\times 3\times 3}$
= $2\times 2\times 2\times 2\times 3=48$
$\therefore$ Number of students = 48
