Solution

Dear Student

PS=12 cmAs PQ=QR=RStherefore, PS=QR=RS=13×12=4cmQS=2PQQS=2×4=8cmtherefore, Area of shaded region=Area of semicirclewith PS as diameter+Area of semicircle with PQ as diameter-Area of semicircle with QS as diameter =123.14×62+3.14×22-3.14×42=123.14×36+3.14×4-3.14×16=123.14×36+4-16=123.14×24=12×75.36area of shaded portion is 37.68cm2Now area of non shaded portion =area of bigger circle - area of shaded portion=3.14×6×6-37.68=113.04-37.68=75.36 cm2
perimeter of shaded portion =circumference of semicircle formed by PQRS+circumference of semicircle formed by PQ+circumference of semicircle formed by QS=3.14×6+3.14×2+3.14×4=3.14×6+2+4=3.14×12=37.68 cm
