Fabric required to produce a School outfit = 4.5m

Number of uniforms to be made = 12

Total fabric required=4.5×12

Steps to solve 4.5×12
Step 1: Count the number of digits after decimal point in 4.5.i.e 1

Step 2: Ignore a decimal point and perform the multiplication, as you would with whole numbers as follows

Step 3: Now place a decimal point back.
4.5 has 1 decimal place. So, move the decimal point 1 places to the left in the product.
Hence, 67.5 m cloth is required to make 12 dresses.
