Let the total marks be x and pass marks bey
marks got by A=30% of x=30x100=3x10
marks got by B=40% of x=40x100=4x10
Given that A got failed by 15 marks i.e. y15=3x10 ............ (1)
B got 35 marks more than pass marks i.e. y+35=4x10.......... (2)
solving(1) and (2)
x=500 and y=165
pass percentage=165500×100=33%
