Solution

Step1: Given data:

Mass of cane (m) = 600 g

The volume of cane (V) = 400cm3

Density of cane (d) = ?

Step2: Formula used:-

Density=massvolume

Spep3: Finding the density of cane:-

Applying, the formula of density,

d=600400=1.5g/cm3

So, the density of cane is 1.5 g/cm3.

As the density of cane is greater than the density of water, hence it will sink in water.
