Plates used by community 1 = 2 x Plates used by community 2 = 4 y Plates used by community 3 = \frac{z}{4} A / Q, 2 x + 4 y + \frac{z}{4} = 100 \Rightarrow 8 x + 16 y + z = 400, which is the required equation according to which plates can be divided between the 3 communities .$
