i.e take a perrpendicular to the previos diection

They can be drawn as the two sides of rightangled triangle . So Atlast displacement will be the hypotenuse of the triangle

So final distance = hypotenuse
Hypotenuse ^2 = base ^2 + Height ^2

d² = 12² + 9² = 225

d = 15 km
