A shopkeeper buys an article for Rs 400 and marks it for sale at a price that may give him 80% profits on his cost. He however gives 15% discount on the marked price to his customer.
Calculate:
i) the method price of the article.
ii) the discount in rupees given to the customer,
iii) the actual percentage profit made by the shopkeeper.

(1) Mark price=400+80×400100=400+320=720
(2) Discount %=15%
=15×720100=108
sp=720108=612
(3) Total profit=spcp=612400=212
Profit =212400×100=53%.
