Solution

Dear student
Profit earned by selling a pen=Rs2Profit earned by selling 10 pens=Rs2×10=Rs20Overall profit=Rs10Loss incurred=profit earned on pens-Overall profit=Rs20-10=-Rs10Loss incurred by selling one pencil=Rs 0.5Loss incurred by selling on eraser=Rs 0.15Let the common ratio be xSo, Total loss on pencil and eraser=7x0.5+10x0.1510=3.5x+1.5x10=5xx=2Therefore, number of pencils sold that day=7×2=14and number of erasers sold that day=10×2=20
