Solution

The correct option is C ₹ 240
Given, the marked price of item = ₹ 1000.
Percentage of first discount = 20%

First discount = 20100×1000
First discount = ₹ 200

Price after first discount = ₹ (1000 - 200)
Price after first discount = ₹ 800

Percentage of second discount = 5%

Second discount = 5100×800
Second discount = ₹ 40

Price after second discount = ₹ (800 - 40)
Price after second discount = ₹ 760

Hence,
Net discount given = ₹ (1000 - 760)
Net discount given = ₹ 240
