Total S.P = 1000+1000=2000

C.P of the first article = $\frac{1000\times 100}{120}=\frac{2500}{3}$

C.P of the second article = $\frac{1000\times 100}{90}=\frac{10,000}{9}$

Total C.P = $\frac{2500\times 3+10,000}{9}=\frac{17500}{9}$

Profit = $2000-\frac{17500}{9}=\frac{18000-17500}{9}=\frac{500}{9}$

profit % = $\frac{\frac{500}{9}\times 100}{17500}=\frac{500}{175}=2.86$%
