In the fist case, we have, S.P. =Rs 35 and gain% =40%
$\therefore C.P=\left(\frac{100}{100+Gain\%}\right)\times S.P.=\left(\frac{100}{100+40}\right)\times 35=\frac{100}{140}\times 35=Rs25$
In the second case, C.P.=Rs 25 and gain% =60%
$\therefore S.P=\left(\frac{100+Gain\%}{100}\right)\times C.P.=\left(\frac{100+60}{100}\right)\times 25=\frac{160}{100}\times 25=Rs40$
