The correct option is A. 150 m/s.

Given,

v1=100 m/s

s1=4 cm

s2=9 cm
As K.E. of shot is spent in doing work against plank resistance F

Therefore, 12mv21=F×s1 and 12mv22=F×s2
Dividing we get,
v22v21=s2s1
v2v1=s2s1=94=32
v2=32×v1=32×100=150 m/s.
