The correct option is B 1.0 s
Given time period T = 6 s
Amplitude =OC=OB=12BC=102=5cm
OD=2.5 cm
Let the displacement of the pendulum be given by
X=A sin (ω+ϕ)
Where A=5 cm and ω=2πT=2π6=π3rads1
Let us suppose that at t = 0, the pendulum is at C, i.e., at t = 0, x = A,
So that
A=A sin (ω×0+ϕ)
or, A=Asinϕ or sinϕ=1 or ϕ=π2
Thus the motion of the pendulum is given by(putting ϕ=π2
X=Asin(ωt+π2)=Acosωt=5cosωt
The value of t for which x = 2.5 cm is given by
2.5 = 5 cos ωt
or cos ω t =12 or ωt =π3
Since ω=π3 we have t = 1 second
