According to clause 23.2.1 of IS 456: 2000,
For a simply supported beam, value of span to effective depth is
$\frac{1}{d}=20K$
For spans above 10 m, the value given above should be mulitplied by 10/span in meters i.e.
$K=\frac{10}{20}=0.50$
$\therefore \frac{L}{d}=20\times 0.50=10$
