The correct option is A 1 kN downward, 1 kN upward
Let us assume the direction of RP and RQ as upward, Now,

RP+RQ=0

Taking moment about point Q, we get

RP × 1+1=0
RP=1kN

RQ=+1kN

Since, our assumed direction of RP is wrong,therefore, RP =1kN which act in the downward directionand RQ=1kN acting in upward direction.
