Given:
Efficiency of the fixed pulley, ηf=75%
Efficiency of the movable pulley, ηm=50%
We know that VRf=1 and VRm=2
So,VRc=2
ηf=0.75=MAfVRf=MAf1
MAf=0.75
Similarly, ηm=0.5=MAmVRm=MAm2
MAm=1
So, the MA for the combination, MAc=MAf×MAm
MAc=0.75×1=0.75
Efficiency of the system, ηc=0.752×100=37.5%
