For dice with n=6

X1=3.5,σ1=1.707

For dice with n=10

X2=5.5,σ2=2.872

Xc=n1X1+n2X2n1+n2Xc=6×3.5+10×5.56+10=4.75

d1=X1Xc=3.54.75=1.25d2=X2Xc=5.54.75=.75

Variance of combined data is

σ2=n1(d21+σ21)+n2(d22+σ22)n1+n2

σ2=6{(1.25)2+(1.707)2}+10{(.75)2+(2.872)2}6+10

σ2=7.1854

So, the variance is 7.1854.

Hence, option D is correct.
