Solution

The correct option is B 3
Given:
Actual wing span = 15 feet
Scale factor = 160

Let, wing span of the model = x feet

We know that,

Scale factor

= Dimension of scale model Dimension of actual object

160=x15

Multiplying both sides by 60,
160×60=x15×60
1=x×4

Dividing both sides by 4,
14=x×44
14=x

Wing span of the model = 14 foot

But we need to find the wing span of the model in inches.

1 foot=12 inches
14 foot =14×12 inches=3 inches

Hence, option (b.) is correct.
