Solution

The correct option is A 4,872 L
Amount of milk production in a day
= 87 L

We have to find the milk production in 8 weeks.

Now, we can observe:

Amount of milk produced in 56 days
will be = (87×56 L)

Let us solve this using lattice algorithm method.

So, we first make a table of 2 columns and 2 rows because both 87 and 56 are 2-digit numbers.

After making the table, we extend the diagonals and write 8 and 7 at the top of each column and 5 and 6 against each row.

Now, we multiply the digits in the corresponding rows and columns and write them on each side of the diagonal line.

At last, we add all the digits diagonally. If the summation becomes more than 1 digit, we regroup other digits with the next diagonal to the left.

Let us write the digits from left to right, which gives the final answer as 4,872.

Hence, 4,872 L of milk is produced in 8 weeks.
