Solution

The correct option is A 13 grids
Point A is located at (8,3).
Point C is located at (1,9).

For the horizontal direction:
Point A is 8 grids away from zero.

Point C is 1 grid away from zero.

So, the distance between the points A and C, along the horizontal direction, is = 8 - 1 = 7 grids.

For the vertical direction:
Point A is 3 grids away from zero.

Point C is 9 grids away from zero.

So, the distance between the points A and C along the vertical direction is = 9 - 3 = 6 grids.

∴ Total distance = 7 + 6 = 13 grids

Hence, the distance between points A and C is 13 grids.
