A solenoid with an iron core and a bulb are connected to a d.c. source. How does the brightness of the bulb change, when the iron core is removed from the solenoid?

Solution

Brightness of the bulb remains unchanged, when the iron core is removed from the solenoid because inductance of the solenoid connected to d.c source does not depend on the medium inside the core of the solenoid.
