Question

A solid block weighs 20 kg . Its volume is found to be 4000 cc. Find its density in g/cc and in kg/m^3.

Open in App
Solution

Mass =20kg =20000g
volume= 4000cc

we know 1cubic meter=1000L=10^6 cc
So 4000cc =4000×10^-6 cm
=4×10^-3 cm

density=mass÷volume
=20 ÷ (4×10^-3)
=20×10^3 ÷(4)
=5×10^3 =5000 kg/m^3

=20000 ÷ 4000
=5 g/cm^3
