The correct option is B 5 N
Applying the equation of torque about centre of cylinder,
τnet=Iα ...(i), where α=angular acceleration of the cylinder
τmg=0, τN=0, as they pass through the COM of the cylinder.
Torque of friction,
τf=fR ...(ii)
Condition for pure rolling is a=αR ...(iii)

From Eq (i),(ii),& (iii)
τf+τmg+τN=Iα
fR+0+0=(12mR2)×aR
f=12ma ...(iv)


Applying Newton's 2nd law along the inclined plane and substituting the value of f in it.
mgsinθf=ma
mgsinθ12ma=ma
32ma=mgsinθ
12ma=mgsinθ3
From Eq.(iv),
f=ma2=mgsinθ3
Substituting values,
f=3×10×0.53=5 N
