The correct option is A Cylinder is slipping forward
We know for pure rolling,
vnet of point of contact (P) of cylinder and plane is zero.


vnet=0
vωR=0
v=ωR [ for pure rolling ]
Given, v=10 m/s..........(1)
ω=4 rad/s
Now, ωR=4×2=8 m/s..........(2)
Here, v>ωR [ from (1) and (2) ]
As translational motion of the cylinder is more than rotational motion. Therefore, cylinder is slipping forward and friction force is acting upwards along the plane.
