A solid piece of metal in the form of cuboid of dimensions 24cm * 18 cm * 4 cm * is melted to the form and recasted into a CUBE. Find the length area of each edge of the cube.

volume of cuboid= lbh= 24184=1728m3

now,volume of cube=volume of cuboid

=1728m3

But volume of cube = (edge)3

let the edge of the cube be x

therefore, x3=1728

x= cube root of 1728

x=12m

so CSA or lateral surface area of cube= 4x2=4122 =4144 =576 cm2
